His stage name as a big band leader was TOMMY TUCKER.
He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of North Dakota in 1924 with a B.A. in music.
His first recordings were with Crown Records in 1933 as “Tommy Tucker and His Californians”. In his career he recorded over 1000 sides for over 10 different record companies.
After retiring as a band leader he taught music and directed the concert band at Monmouth College.
