ROCKWELL -- James Lee Misenheimer, 72, Rockwell, died Sunday (May 12, 2002) at his home.

Born July 7, 1929, in Rockwell, Mr. Misenheimer, a son of the late Clarence Lee and Clara Brady Misenheimer, was a 1947 graduate of Rockwell High School. He served with the U.S. Air Force in Guam, Hawaii and Puerto Rico from 1948 to 1950.

He was formerly employed with Rockwell Radio and Electric. In 1994, he retired as plant manager after 35 years with Rockwell Casket Co.

An active member of St. James Lutheran Church, he was Sunday school treasurer for 52 years and a member of the Men's Bible Class and Lutheran Men in Mission. A former member of the church council, he had served on numerous committees.

He was a member of Rockwell Civitan Club for over 50 years, where he had formerly served as president and was a Civitan of the Year. He was also a member of Keller Memorial Masonic Lodge 657, York Rite Bodies, Rowan Shrine Club, where he was a former president, Oasis Shrine Temple, Charlotte, Miller-Russell American Legion Post 112 and Rockwell AMVETS. He also helped with numerous Boy Scout fund-raisers.

Survivors include wife Roselyn Fisher Misenheimer, whom he married Jan. 20, 1950; sons Stephen E. Misenheimer, Rockwell, and David L. Misenheimer, Shelby; foster son M. Darrell Lamb, Rockwell; daughter Deborah M. Plumb, Louisville, Ky.; sister Nell M. Tolley, Rockwell; and 10 grandchildren.

Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, St. James Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Craig Sigmon. Burial, church cemetery. Masonic rites by Keller Memorial Masonic Lodge 657.

Visitation: 6-9 tonight, Powles Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Stephen E. Misenheimer.

Memorials: St. James Lutheran Church, Jean Fisher Poole Scholarship Fund, Rockwell.
