North Myrtle Beach - Joyce Almond Poplin went to her heavenly home on May 10, 2017.
Joyce loved the beach, life and her friends. She was in accounting and a comptroller in the hotel industry for over forty years. After retirement from the hotel industry, she opened Joyce's Avon Store in Everything Under the Sun Plaza in North Myrtle Beach. She loved and treasured her Avon customers. She won numerous awards for her Avon sales achievements.
Joyce was a very talented seamstress and interior decorator. She loved beach music and shagging and always looked forward to attending the annual Cammy Awards.
She will be greatly missed by her family. Joyce was born on June 2, 1947 in Albemarle, NC to the late Jesse and Margaret Almond. She is survived by one daughter, Michelle Poplin of Little River, SC; two grandchildren, Chad Poplin and Amber Nettles; two great grandchildren; one sister, Jan Eudy and was predeceased by one brother, Gary J. Almond, both of Albemarle, NC. She is also survived by a special family friends, Chris, Jim and Barbara Campbell.
A service to celebrate Joyce's life will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Lung Association.
