Notes for Ben Jeremiah Barringer
Ben Barringer

Ben Jeremiah Barringer, 97, of Trinity Place, Albemarle, went to his eternal home on December 8, 2014.

Ben was born August 3, 1917, to Eunice Collie and Lillie Miller Barringer.

He is survived by one brother, Lane Barringer, of Mt. Gilead; and nine nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret B. Almond and Ethel B. Reap.

Ben loved to attend church with his family. He was a lifelong member of Matton’s Grove United Methodist Church and was the oldest attendee at Vortex Church in Albemarle.

Through his lifetime he had achieved more than 34 years of perfect church attendance. He loved people and had a smile for everyone he encountered. He appreciated the simple things in life and always had a thankful, humble spirit.

A graveside service to celebrate Ben’s life will be conducted by the Rev. Kevin Simmons and the Rev. Jimmy Eudy at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at Matton’s Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Trinity Place for their compassionate care for Ben.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Matton’s Grove United Methodist Church, PO Box 503, Richfield, NC 28137.
