Dorothy Simpson Hines
Dorothy Simpson Hines, 93, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday May 8, 2013 at Bethany Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday May 11, 2013 at Porter Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Ingram and Dr. Kenny Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Simpson Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 until 8:00 PM. The body will remain at the funeral home until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the hour of service.
Born March 23, 1920 in Stanly County, NC, she was the late daughter of Adam Brack Simpson and Pattie Goodman Simpson.
Mrs. Hines was a homemaker and the last Charter member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Claude Hines.
She is survived by a son Alvin Brack Hines of Cape Carteret, NC, one brother Noah Kirk Simpson of Lake Worth, TX, one sister Eunice Marie Barringer of Charlotte, NC, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County or Gideons International.
