SALISBURY - Annie Mae Eagle Winders, 80, of Salisbury, passed away April 11, 2014, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 1, 1933, in Rowan County, the daughter of the late Ammie Ethel Starnes Eagle and David L. Eagle.

Annie Mae graduated from Rockwell High School in 1951 and worked at Cartex, Cone Mills and American Efird.

She was a lifetime member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, the John Sunday School Class, the Friendship Club and was a member of the choir.

Annie Mae loved gardening, flowers, gospel music and her church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert L. Winders, on Aug. 23, 1978; and brothers Leo and Irvin Eagle.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother, Martin Eagle (Jo) of Salisbury; sisters Frances Hand of Salisbury, Janie Harrington (Junior) of Newberry, S.C., and Jean Ludwick (Tom) of Salisbury; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 2:30-4 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 9275 Bringle Ferry Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146.

Service: 4 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church with Rev. Gary Coble and Rev. Bill Ketchie officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials: St. Matthews Lutheran Church Building Improvement Fund or Scholarship Fund.
