CHINA GROVE - Vivian L. Eagle, 93, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center following a period of declining health.
Born Aug. 15, 1917, in Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Caldwell and Belle Pless Linker. Educated at the Fink and Yost School, Mrs. Eagle had worked for Carolina Maid and was a homemaker.
A lifetime loyal member of Mount Hope United Church of Christ, she was active and helped serve in many ways and was an original History Committee member.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond "Jack" Eagle, in 2003.
Family members left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Troy Eagle and Tracy Eagle; her brother, Arlie Linker and wife Margaret; and sister Lillian Mault, all of China Grove; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation and Service: The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral service is 1 p.m. at Mount Hope United Church of Christ conducted by the Rev. David Crook. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials: May be made to Mount Hope United Church of Christ.
