Ray Curtis Eagle

SALISBURY - Ray Curtis Eagle, 77, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem. Mr. Eagle was born June 24, 1928, in Rowan County, a son of the late Baxter C. Eagle and Minnie Bostian Eagle. He was educated in Rowan County schools and went to barber school in Winston-Salem. He was owner and operator of Shuping Mill Barber Shop for 45 years. A life-member of Faith Lutheran Church, he was also a member of Faith American Legion Post and DAV.

Mr. Eagle was preceded in death by son Ernest Ray Eagle in 1955 and a daughter, Patricia Eagle Eudy, on July 20, 1974.

He is survived by wife Mrs. Helen Murdoch Eagle, whom he married Nov. 12, 1977; daughter Audrey Eagle of Salisbury; sister Mrs. Dorothy Chambers of Kannapolis; grandchildren Steven Keith Johnson, Randy Joel Johnson and Adam Colt Johnson; three step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services : The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Loyd Ginn, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Faith American Legion Post.

Visitation : The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 tonight at Powles Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence.

Memorials : Faith Lutheran Church, Improvement Fund, or Hospice of Forsyth County.

Powles Funeral Home is in charge of the Eagle service.
