Jimmy Hill Michael, 80, of Norwood, N.C., formerly of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Friday afternoon, October 31, 2014, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at Stony Hill United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ron Honeycutt will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors. The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday evening, November 3, 2014, at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood.
Mr. Michael was born July 4, 1934, in Stanly County. He was a son of the late Olin and Della Kirk Michael. He was a retiree of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Juritza Michael of the home; two daughters, Shelli Michael of Norwood and Kim Michael Spackman and husband Mark of Mableton, Georgia; two granddaughters, Kaimyn Michael and Mary Emily Landers.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Kirk, Wilson and Gerald Michael and Frances Michael Biggers.
