Ralph “RB” Benjamin Cox
Ralph “RB” Benjamin Cox, 83, of Misenheimer, peacefully passed away on May 14, 2018 at his home.
He was born August 16, 1934 in Stanly County, NC to the late Henry Cox and Alice Coley Cox. RB was a member of Prospect Baptist Church in Albemarle and his proudest moment was being baptized when he was 70. He loved the Lord and was often heard praying out loud lifting up friends and family calling them by name. RB operated service stations for many years but was a long time truck driver and retired from Mauney Grain, working passed retirement age and with a safe driving record. RB could back a trailer into places you would not believe a trailer could go. He enjoyed watching Westerns on TV, working with his tractor, dump truck, and loader, but most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include, daughter Roxanne Morgan (Rick) of Misenheimer; granddaughters, Bethany Bowers (Dustin) of Richfield, NC and Chelsea Osterloh (Andrew) of Misenheimer, NC; 6 great grandchildren, Madelyn, Morgan, and Mabrie Bowers; Lexi, Drew, and Spencer Osterloh and baby Henry due in July; and sister, Sara Cox of Albemarle, NC.
In addition to his parents, RB was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Janice Carter Cox and brother, Jimmy Craven Cox.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, Prospect Baptist Church, or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Carolina Cremation is assisting the Cox family.
