CHINA GROVE - Danny Lee Styers, 65, of China Grove, returned home to Jesus on Sept. 25, 2014 due to pneumonia and complications from lung cancer.
Danny was born March 23, 1949, in Gold Hill to the late Merkes Lee and Marylou (Honeycutt) Styers.
Danny loved being outside, especially if he was hunting deer, fishing or working in the yard. But more than that, he loved being a Pawpaw. He loved his grandkids, loved playing with them, hanging out with them, making sure they all knew it.
Danny was predeceased by his brothers, James and Fred Styers and sisters, Margaret Carpenter, Ida Mae Cress and Rosalee Bostian.
He is sorely missed by his loving wife, Jane Corbett Styers; six children, Chip Harmon and spouse, Joann Patterson of Charlotte, Dale Harmon and spouse, Kim of Charlotte, Karen Linton and spouse, Sam of Bentonville, Ark., Tammy Bohne of Eminence, Ky., Angela Armstrong and spouse, Murray of Shelbyville, Ky. and Tony Styers and spouse, Cristin of Faith; 14 grandchildren, including Sharima Harmon, Seaman Devon Scott, Christian (Budboy) and Luke (Nah-Nah) Styers, Allie Heilig, Austin Bohne and Tessa Ross; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Diane Martin and Jo Mitchell of Rock Hill, S.C.
Visitation and Services: The funeral will be Monday, Sept. 29, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Bible Missionary Baptist Church in Rockwell with Pastor Buddy Hoffner officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park. The viewing will be Monday at the church beginning at 12:30 p.m. prior to the funeral. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Danny's life.
Memorials: The family gratefully declines flowers, but welcomes donations to Bible Missionary Baptist Church at 11360 Old Concord Road, Rockwell, NC, 28138, where Danny was an active and dedicated member.
