Sue Misenheimer

Sue Herrin Misenheimer, 83, of Richfield passed away Friday August 29, 2014 at Spring Arbor.  Her memorial service will be 4 PM Saturday September 6, 2014 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Ruth Sipe officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 2 until 4 PM, prior to the hour of the service.

Born May 18, 1931 in Stanly County, NC she was the daughter of the late Grover Herrin and Mae Moody Herrin. She was educated at Pfeiffer College, UNC Charlotte and UNC Chapel Hill and retired as Personnel Director with the Stanly County School System. She formerly served as a teacher and as Principal of Richfield School. Mrs. Misenheimer was the first female Principal in Stanly County. She was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church where she served as Organist and Choir Director. She was very active in her church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Herriot Misenheimer on January 26, 1995.

Survivors include sons Charles Wesley Misenheimer and wife Eva of Budapest, Hungary, and Lincoln Corey Misenheimer and wife Liz of Monroe; daughter Todd Misenheimer Rogers and husband Randy of Richfield; brother John Herrin and wife Alice of High Point; grandchildren Kristen Misenheimer Harris and husband David, Charles Tanner Rogers, Haley Jensen Rogers, Emily Elizabeth Misenheimer, and Charles Michael Misenheimer, and great-grandson Charles David Harris.
