ROCKWELL - Mr. Billy Ray Adams, 76 of Rockwell, died Friday, June 15, 2007 at his residence. Born Feb. 4, 1931 in Rowan County. He was the son of the late Lee Parks Adams and Daisy Pickler Adams. Mr. Adams was educated in the Rowan County School System.
Mr. Adams was employed at Kluttz Piano Company for eighteen years before retiring from Wagoner Trucking Company.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by one brother, Lee Parks Adams, Jr. and four step-brothers, John, George, Harry Lee and Homer Kluttz, and also one grandson, Michael Ray Brown.
Survivors include his loving wife Bonnie Dorton Adams of 58 years. Two sons, Larry Adams of Salisbury and Jerry Adams of Rockwell; four daughters, Vickie Lane, Rita Brown and Jane Adams all of Salisbury and Judy Lane of Rockwell; Eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Sunday, June 17, 2007 at the Powles Funeral Home Chapel, Rockwell, conducted by Rev. Wayne Trexler, Interim Pastor of Shiloh Reformed Church, Faith. Burial will follow at Shiloh Reformed Church Cemetery.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 PM today.
