Mary Ruth Austin Eudy

Mary Ruth Austin Eudy, 87, of Oakboro, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Hospice of Union County in Monroe.

Mrs. Eudy was born September 24, 1931 in Stanly County to the late Crocker Austin and the late Katherine Austin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Coolidge Eudy; and sister, Carrie Lambert.

Ruth was a wonderful seamtress and homemaker. She was a great cook and baker. Ruth enjoyed making homemade quilts.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM, Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro. The funeral service will follow in the church sanctuary at 2:00 PM officiated by Rev. Tab Whitley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include daughter, Barbara K. Eudy of Oakboro; son, Larry Eudy and wife Vicki of Oakboro; grandchildren, Melisa Smith and husband Jason of Stanfield, Jennifer Shue and husband Jay of Oakboro, Brian Eudy and wife Mandi of Locust; great grandchildren, Morgan and Maycee Williams, Lillie Grace and Brayden Eudy, and Kade Shue; step great grandchildren, Jacob Smith and Ashley Scalone; and step great great grandchildren, Daniel and Italia Scalone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the hospice organization of the donor's choice.
