ROCK HILL Mr. Brian Kirk Jones Sr., 62, of Springsteen Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at Mercy Hospital-Main in Charlotte, N.C.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd., with the Rev. Terry Wingate, officiating and Revs. Gene Flack and Louie Matthews, assisting. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Rock Hill.
Born in Ann Arbor, Mich., Mr. Jones was the son of the late Brian Ward Jones and Clara Kirk Jones. Brian was a 1967 graduate of Camden Military Academy and 1968 graduate of Kentucky School of Mortuary Science. He was a retired funeral director and embalmer with Greene Funeral Home in Rock Hill and Carothers Funeral Home in Gastonia, N.C.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Jones Ratterree and aunt, Ruby K. Fant.
He was of the Presbyterian faith.
Surviving are his wife, Diane McKellar Jones of the home; son, Brian K. Jones Jr., of Chester, S.C.; stepdaughters, Andrea Patterson and her husband, Tony of Rock Hill, Tammy Shoup and her husband, Bob, of Fort Mill, S.C.; stepson, Johnny Small and his wife, Tifffany, of York, S.C.; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and mother-in-law, Martha McKellar of the home.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Aug. 13, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice & Community Care, Rock Hill; or the National Kidney Foundation.
