Wade Hearne
Wade Hearne, 73, of 700 Snuggs St., Albemarle, died at 1:17 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, 2008 at Stanly Regional Medical Center. There is no formal visitation, but friends may stop by the funeral home anytime after 6 p.m. Sunday.
His funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. Beth Poplin will officiate. Burial will be at Stanly Gardens of Memory in Albemarle.
He was born Oct. 3, 1934, a son of the late Henry Daniel and Emily T. Lola Dick Hearne.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Hearne was of the Baptist faith. He was owner and operator of Hearne’s Upholstery and also worked at Smith Novelty at the age of 18 and for James Whitley before opening Hearne’s Upholstery. He was a graduate of Albemarle High School Class of 1953, where he lettered in baseball. He loved Legion baseball and enjoyed gardening and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sammie and William “Bud” Hearne.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Lowder Hearne of Albemarle; a son, Greg Hearne, and wife, Alicia, of Flat Rock; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association of Stanly County or the charity of the donor’s choice.
