CHINA GROVE - John Phillip Fesperman, 85, of Liberty Commons Nursing Center and formerly of 235 Kimball Road, died Thursday, June 1, 2006 at the center. He was born July 10, 1920 in Rowan County to the late Carl and Estelle Dabbs Fesperman. A member of Organ Lutheran Church, he attended Rowan County schools and retired from Cannon Mills.

Mr. Fesperman served in the US Army during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ezella Park Fesperman in 1978; son, Phillip DeLane Fesperman; and brothers Carl Lee, Charlie Ray and Eugene Fesperman.

Survivors include his second wife Margaret Tyson Fesperman whom he married in 1978; daughter Linda Gayle Stegall and husband Larry, Kannapolis; sisters Helen Cranford, Edna Bost and husband Hobert, Lois Beaver and husband Brantley, Detta Moss and husband Roy, all of Rockwell; grandchildren Donna Seamone, Concord, Kenneth Fesperman, Rockwell, Chance Ross, China Grove and Jaclyn Ross, Kannapolis.

Service: 11 a.m. today, Northcrest Chapel of Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove conducted by Rev. Gene Beaver and Rev. Ron Bushey. Interment will follow in Organ Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Visitation: The Fesperman family will receive friends today from 10 a.m. until service time at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove. At other times, the family will be at the home of daughter, Linda Gayle Stegall 5338 Boy Scout Camp Road.
