Ruth B. Holt

REIDSVILLE - Ruth Basinger Holt, 76, of 1023 Sherwood Drive, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013, at Annie Penn Hospital.

A native of Rowan County, she was a daughter of the late Calvin L. and Effie Wyatt Basinger and had lived in Reidsville since 1969. She was a former employee of Piedmont Airlines and Ford Motor Co. and later worked as a secretary for the law firm of Bethea, Robinson, Moore and Sands in Reidsville.

Ruth enjoyed gardening, fishing, family fellowship and her special Friends from Glory. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Edward Franklin "Ed" Holt; brothers Claude Basinger, Clinton Basinger, Chester Basinger; and sisters Edith Hope Brown, Eltha B. Caster and Eunice B. Robinson.

Surviving are sons Tim Holt and wife Janet of Reidsville, Stan Holt of Lawrenceville, Ga.; grandchildren Tiffany Bailey and husband David of Reidsville, Mikaela Holt of Lawrence, Ga., Jason Richardson of Reidsville; sister Elva Kaye Basinger of Rockwell; and numerous nieces and nephews

Service: Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 at First Baptist Church of Reidsville. Burial will be in Rowan Memorial Park in Salisbury.

Visitation: The family will see friends 6 till 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Citty Funeral Home; and at other times, will be at the residence, 1023 Sherwood Dr. Reidsville, N.C.

Memorials: May be made to First Baptist Church, Reidsville, NC.
