Marjorie Lucille Eagle Miller

Marjorie Lucille Eagle Miller, 98, of Rockwell, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Trinity Oaks.

She was born July 7, 1923, in Rowan County, to Albert T. and Mary Canupp Eagle. Mrs. Miller was a 1941 Graduate of Rockwell High School, was employed at Carolina Maid, and retired from W.G. Hefner VA Medical Center where she was a nursing assistant. She was a charter member of Bethel Baptist Church in Rockwell, the Red Hat Society, and Powles Staton Funeral Home TLC, and was a former member of Rockwell American Legion Post 112 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Miller attended the Grace Lowerstone Meal Site and was also active with the Rockwell Senior Citizens, where she served as chaplain and president.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Miller; daughter, Carol M. Edwards; son, George "Pete" Miller; grandsons, Wayne Pickler and Justin Miller; sister, Ruby Eagle Lonon; and brothers, Moody V. Eagle and James A. Eagle.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughter, Theresa M. Pickler and husband, Grady "Junior" Pickler, of Rockwell; four grandchildren, Cathy Fleming, Brian Pickler, Jason Miller, and Angie Edwards; seven great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.

The family will greet friends and relatives from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 12, at Bethel Baptist Church in Rockwell.

A memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM on Saturday, at the church, conducted by Dr. Wayne Willis and Pastor David Fulp.

Burial will take place at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 23, at the Historic Salisbury National Cemetery, 202 Government Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Sean Malone for his many years of excellent care and to Sarah, Stephanie, Heather, Megan, Terry, Zak, Juan, Marcella, and Tammy and the staff of A Hall at Trinity Oaks for their support and care of Mrs. Miller and the family.
