MRS. ELLEN LENTZ
Mrs. Ellen E. Lentz, 84, a lifelong resident of Stella, died Saturday morning in Sale Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Lentz was born July 8, 1878 in Stella. She was the widow of Freelin Lentz who died in 1943 and was a member of the Stella Baptist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Lois Hatfield, Cloverdale, Ore., Mrs. Minnie Couness, Renton, Wash., and Mrs. Irene Deystrom, Mountain View, Calif., three sons, Crawford Lentz, Granby, Matthew Lentz, Stella and Harland Lentz, Pierce City, two sisters, Mrs. Inez McKinley, Westonville, Calif., and Mrs. Hettie Dopp, Pierce City, one brother, Earl Scott, Stark City, 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Stella Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Siler will officiate and burial will be in the Macedonia Cemetery at Stella under direction of the Pogue Funeral Home of Wheaton.
The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. Tuesday to the funeral hour.
