Notes for Helen Frances Barger
Helen Barger Rogers

Helen Barger was born in Faith to Lester A. Barger and Pearl L. Barger on October 18th, 1928. She attended Faith Elementary School and graduated from Granite Quarry High in 1946 before continuing her education, graduating from Salisbury Business College.

She married Bobby L. Rogers on July 1st, 1951 and had two children, Janice Rogers Burris and Eddie Lemont Rogers.

Helen worked faithfully at Carolina Tire, the office at Cannon Mills #8, Electric Wholesale, as the Assistant Clerk of Court, and retired from the Rowan County Health Department after 20 years of service.

She was very active in her community, teaching the children’s Sunday School class at Faith Lutheran Church where she was a member all her life, serving in the American Legion Auxiliary #327 for 68 years where she was honored to be president and secretary during her tenure. She worked every year at the Faith Fourth of July festivities, something she loved to do.

Helen loved camping and was a member of the East Rowan Camping Club. She loved to share stories of her trip to Niagara Falls and month-long tour of the west.

Nothing made Helen more proud than her family– her daughter Jan (Ron), son Eddie (Lisa), grandchildren Staci Coble (Chad), Seth Burris (Lauren), Taylor Rogers, and Kyle Rogers. She was delighted to welcome 4 great-grandchildren during her lifetime, Mckinlee Coble, Reese Coble, Colton Coble, and Brice Burris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Pearl and her sister Dorothy Barger Caskey. Helen is survived by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her husband of 71 years, Bob Rogers.

Services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 12:00 pm. A visitation with the family will be held before the service at the Faith Lutheran Family Life Center from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.

The family will receive guests at the home of Bob Rogers the weekend preceding services.

Memorials may be sent to the Glenn A. Kaiser Hospice House at 1229 Statesville Blvd. Salisbury, NC, or Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Fund at 205 S. Main St. Faith, NC.
