Dorothy "Dot" Barger Caskey
Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Barger Caskey, 88, of Faith, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Salisbury. She was born April 22, 1926, in Rowan County, NC to the late Lester A. and Pearl Lyerly Barger.
Dot was a graduate of Granite Quarry High School and retired from Carolina Maid in Granite Quarry.
A member of Faith Lutheran Church, she was active in the Women's Group and many other areas of the church, where she was also a former choir member and Sunday School Teacher. Dot was a member of Faith American Legion Auxiliary and the Faith 4th of July Committee.
She is survived by her husband, C.C. Caskey, Jr; sons, Lynn Caskey and wife, Janet, of Concord and Jerrell "J.C." Caskey of Faith; Grandchildren, Brandon Caskey and wife, Brandi, Leah Benfield and husband, Daniel, and Jarrett Caskey; Great-grandchildren, Townes Caskey and Cannon and Audrey Lynn Benfield; and sister, Helen Rogers and husband, Bob, of Faith.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 28 from 9:00-11:00 AM in the Family Life Center at Faith Lutheran Church.
The funeral will follow on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Faith Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. Randy Conley. Interment will follow in the church cemetery
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Rowan Hospice and Palliative Care; or Faith Lutheran Church-FLC Debt Reduction Fund, Faith, NC.
