Margie VonCannon
Mrs. Margie Fesperman VonCannon, 92, of Rockwell, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at The Meadows of Rockwell. She was born March 2, 1922 in Stanly County, to the late Eli Martin and Gertie Morgan Fesperman.
Margie attended Stanly County Schools and worked at South China Grove Cotton Mill.
A member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, she was a life member of WELCA, past member of church council, and secretary/treasurer of the Ralph Shaver Sunday School Class. Margie was also active with Rockwell Senior Citizens, Young at Heart, Liberty Sunshiners, Organ Senior Citizens, and the TLC Group of Powles Funeral Home.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Carl E. VonCannon, whom she married September 30, 1939, and daughter, Shirley V. Sioros.
Margie is survived by her son-in-law, Paul C. Sioros, of Chesapeake, VA; granddaughter, Monica Butler and husband, Tim; grandson, Donald Pickler and wife, Sandy; sister, Polly Bost of Rockwell; brother, Ray Fesperman of Gold Hill; great-grandchildren, Kelly, Casey, Peggy, Eddie, and Wesley; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Sunday, June 15 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.
Service: The funeral service will follow at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church on Sunday at 3:00 PM, conducted by Rev. Darrell Norris, pastor. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Stephen's Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
