Tuesday, September 16, 2008 — Mrs. Margaret Marie Fraley Carter, 67, of 37667 Saw Mill Rd., New London, died at 11:51 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, in Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, in Palestine United Methodist Church. The Rev. Nick Rochester and The Rev. Boyd Joyce will officiate and burial will be in Palestine Cemetery.
Born April 25, 1941, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late John Spencer Fraley, Sr. and Alma Jones Fraley and was educated in the Stanly County Schools. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending church functions. She loved bingo and wordsearch puzzles.
She was married to the late Dwight Lee Carter who preceded her in death Nov. 30, 2002.
She is survived by two daughters, Pamela D. Carter of New London and Kelley A. Craven and husband Danny and grandson Landon W. Craven of Albemarle; two brothers, John Wayne Fraley of Stanfield and Michael Fraley of Albemarle; and two sisters, Juanita Wilhoit of Albemarle and Linda Fraley of New London.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Stanly Funeral Home where the body will remain until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the hour of service.
Memorials may be made to Palestine United Methodist Church, 36404 Palestine Rd., Albemarle, NC.
