Julia Louise Furr
Julia Louise Furr, 86, of Concord, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021 at her residence surrounded by family.
Mrs. Furr was born May 25, 1935 in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Carl Columbus Lowder and the late Alta Rae Louise Russell Lowder.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Johnnie Brown Furr.
She graduated from high school and then attended a woman’s business college in Greensboro, NC. Julia met and married Johnnie on September 7th, 1957. They raised their family attending church weekly. Along with being involved in church Julia enjoyed sewing, crocheting, playing cards, cake decorating, and many other crafts. In 1985, Julia acquired Harrisburg Florist which continues to operate successfully today. Through the years children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have helped to carry on the family tradition of spreading love through flowers. Julia actually retired from the flower shop to take care of her grandchildren.
Julia’s family has so many special memories from over the years and will cherish them forever, but the last three months have been extra special. Since early 2020, due to Covid, Julia was unable to have physical contact with her family. In March 2021, the decision was made by her family to bring her home. The special care she received from her daughter Jacquie, Granddaughter Tiffanie and Great-granddaughter Kynadee, as her care-givers, allowed the entire family to have amazing times full of laughter and love.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. The memorial service will be on Thursday at 10:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg and officiated by Rev. Beau Linker. The burial will follow at the Carolina Memorial Park of Harrisburg.
Survivors include son, Jeff (Lisa) Furr of Richfield, NC, daughter, Jacquie Fisher of Concord, NC, daughter, Joellyn (Kenneth) Padgett of Concord, NC, granddaughter, Tiffanie Furr, granddaughter, Jessica Morgan (Ryan), grandson, Jake Fisher, granddaughter, Julianne Fisher, granddaughter, Katellyn Dulin (Corey), grandson, Trevor Padgett, great-granddaughter, Kynadee Furr, great-grandson, Bevin "Cash" Morgan, great-granddaughter, Emma Morgan, brother, Sparrell (Linda) Lowder, and niece, Michelle Slocum.
Memorials may be made to Tucker Hospice House, 5005 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC.
