Notes for Roger “Dale” Eagle
Roger "Dale" Eagle

Roger "Dale" Eagle, 56, of Rockwell, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center in Concord due to declining health over the past year. He was the loving husband of Elaine Young Eagle whom he married on April 28, 1979.

Dale was born on April 28, 1960 in Rowan County to the late Roy Allen, Sr. and Mildred Beatrice Eagle Troutman of Rockwell. He attended East Rowan High School.

He proudly served his country in the National Guard from 1977-1983.

Dale formerly worked as a mechanic and past employee for Howells Motor Freight in Charlotte. He loved his job, the truck drivers and the company. His true calling was his work as Pastor of Solid Rock Baptist Church in East Spencer. He loved to work with the teenagers at the church who were like family to him.

Dale was also a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association Salisbury Chapter. He loved the outdoors and to fish and hunt. He enjoyed music, singing and playing guitar. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved riding his Harley; riding the curves was a thrill to him. Most of all, he loved the Bible and spreading the word of God by preaching and serving the Lord. He loved talking and praying for people, even through Facebook. He was loved by all.

Dale is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elaine Young Eagle of Rockwell; his mother, Mildred Beatrice Eagle Troutman; one sister, Lana Patterson of Rockwell; one brother, Roy Allen Eagle, Jr. of Salisbury.

He was preceded in death by his father; one sister, Kathy Patterson; and one brother, Timothy Eagle.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 1-2 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell. A service will follow visitation at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. James Valk and Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Burial will be held in West Lawn Cemetery in China Grove. Military honors will be provided by the Rowan County Honor Guard and the NC National Guard, with a special tribute by The Patriot Guard Riders.
