Dewey Monroe Hatley, 76 of Albemarle, NC passed away, July 9, 2011 at Hospice of Union County, Monroe, NC.
Mr. Hatley was born June 28, 1935 in Stanly County to the late Paul Pierce Hatley and Eva Mae Tucker Hatley. He was also preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Hatley. He worked in construction and textiles.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 11, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. on Tuesday July 12 at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Albemarle. The burial will follow at Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
At other times the family will meet at the home of his son, Wayne Hatley of Albemarle.
He is survived by his sons, Dewey Wayne Hatley of Albemarle, Roger Eugene Hatley and wife Trish of Albemarle and Rodney Paul Hatley of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Shane Hatley and wife Allison of Albemarle, Travis Hatley of Salisbury and Holly Hatley Lemaire of Albemarle; three great-grandchildren, Courtney, Dakota and Hayden; two sisters, Betty Jean Burleson of Albemarle and Paulette Harris and husband Eddie of Locust and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County or to Hospice of Union County.
