John Max Lambert
John Max Lambert AKA “Big John” 85 was called home by the Lord and his angels on June 12, 2020. Mr. Lambert passed away at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center-Salisbury, NC. John was a Korean War veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 520.
John Lambert was the son of the late John Duncan Lambert and Eliza Broadway Lambert.
John was an amazing husband, a wonderful father, and a loving grandfather. He enjoyed being a family man, reading his newspapers, helping others out when he could, and he loved to tell jokes and make people laugh and smile. Whenever you think of Mr. Lambert, please think of him with a smile because that smile is what he would have wanted.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia L. Lambert of the home, his sons John Tilmon (Tim) Lambert, William Trent Lambert and a daughter, Joy Lambert Ritter; several grandchildren, John Duncan Lambert, Trena Lambert Simpson, Matthew Trent Lambert, Charles Michael Lambert, Joshua James Lambert, Caitlin Grace Lambert, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, a special nephew-in-law, Michael Poplin and his best friend of many years Zeke Farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Joseph Turner, several sisters and a younger brother.
Per Mr. Lambert’s request, there will be no formal funeral service but there will be a celebration of life gathering in the future for family and friends.
Since there will be no formal funeral service, in lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that you honor John Max Lambert’s memory by simply being caring and kind to one another, helping others out when you can and passing a smile along to someone ever once in a while.
