SALISBURY - Eric Clinton Agner, 62, of Salisbury passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House.
Born May 22, 1951 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Fred Clinton Agner and Pauline Beck Agner.
He attended Rowan County Schools and graduated from East Rowan High School in Salisbury and North Carolina State University in Raleigh.
Eric worked for Salisbury City Police and had previously worked for JC Penney in Salisbury and Statesville, IBM Corporation in Charlotte and Wachovia Bank in Raleigh.
He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church in Salisbury where, at one time, he served as a teacher in the Adult Men's Sunday School class and played the organ and piano for the opening service for many years and also played for the regular worship service on many occasions. Eric also played for 3rd Sunday night singing at Liberty United Methodist Church for 20 years and also for 5th Sunday night singing at both Providence and Liberty United Methodist Churches.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Gary W. Agner.
Those left to cherish his memory are nephew, Timothy W. Agner of Raleigh and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Providence United Methodist Church, 6450 Bringle Ferry Rd., Salisbury, NC 28146 with the Rev. Dan Gobble officiating.
