ROCKWELL - George Edgar Kluttz, Sr., age 91, of Tyler Road, died Monday, Sept. 22, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.
Mr. Kluttz was born Dec. 20, 1916, in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Charles A. Kluttz and Emma Goodman Kluttz. He was a member of Boger United Church of Christ and attended Grace Lower Stone Church. He was a fifth generation farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Boger Kluttz; son George E. "Sonny" Kluttz, Jr., and wife Nancy of Rockwell; daughter Marilyn Payne and husband Richard of Chesapeake, Va.; sister Ruth Misenheimer of Rockwell; grandchildren Darrell Kluttz, Brad Kluttz and wife Shanon and Allison Holt and husband Kevin; and five great-grandchildren.
Service: The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gordon Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant, officiated by Rev. Dr. Donald McManus and Rev. Marion Rhyne. Burial will follow at Boger United Church of Christ Cemetery.
Visitation: The Kluttz family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at Gordon Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant.
