Friday, Aug. 1, 2014 — Alma Treece Mauldin, 77, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014, in the Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis.  

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014, in Stanly Gardens of Memory, Albemarle, with the Rev. Joe Smith officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.  

Born November 7, 1936, in Stanly County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert Franklin Treece and Clara Kirk Treece and was a homemaker.  

She was a former employee of the Albemarle Middle School Cafeteria. She attended Palestine United Methodist Church.  

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Russell Mauldin of the home.  Other survivors include sons, Jim Mauldin and wife Jackie of Granite Quarry, Dean Mauldin and wife Joyce of Kershaw, S.C. and Doug Mauldin and wife Leslie of Louisburg, N.C.; daughters, Deb Erk and husband Richard of Albemarle, Donna Talbert and husband Terry of New London and Diann Hamilton and husband Kim of Denton; half-brother Dewey Treece and wife Hazel of Albemarle; and sisters, Betty Drye and husband Sherrill of New London and Jadie Rogers of Durham; as well as 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Treece of New London.  

She was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby K. Treece and his wife Helen; and by her brother, Dwight Treece.  

The family requests that memorials be made to the Hospice in the community in which the donor lives.
