Thursday, June 7, 2012 — Dwight Patrick Treece Sr., age 77, of New London, died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012, in Hospice House of Cabarrus County, Kannapolis, N.C.

His funeral was at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Highland Baptist Church, New London, N.C. Rev. Michael Madaris officiated and burial was in Highland Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family received friends at the Family Life Center of Highland Baptist Church on Thursday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. prior to the hour of the service.

Born September 21, 1934, in Stanly County, N.C., he was the son of the late Robert Franklin and Clara Kirk Treece.

He was a graduate of New London High School. He was an employee of Treece Construction and had also worked for Herlocker Farms, Trexler Trucking and Jamie Moore Grading.

He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, New London, N.C. where he was a former Deacon and Lead Usher. He loved his church and his family. He also loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Treece was married to Phyllis Hartsell Treece of the home. Other survivors include three sons, Dwight “Pat” Treece Jr. of New London, N.C., Mike Treece and wife Kim of Albemarle, N.C. and Todd Treece of New London, N.C.; one daughter, Christi Treece Almond and husband Gary of Albemarle, N.C.; one brother, Dewey Treece of Albemarle, N.C.; four sisters, Alma Mauldin and Betty Drye, both of Albemarle, N.C., Jadie Rogers of Durham, N.C. and Blanche Hall of Randleman, N.C.; six grandchildren, Jennifer Almond, Stephanie Treece, Amanda Treece, Brad Treece, Jamie Treece and Shelly Hatley; and three great-grandchildren, Hailey Holbrooks, Shae Almond and Aiden Treece.

One brother, Bobby Treece, preceded him in death.

Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County; or Highland Baptist Church Building Fund, New London, NC.

Stanly Funeral Home is serving the family.
