Thursday, October 27, 2011 — Bobby Kirk Treece, age 78, of 33426 Old Salisbury Road, Albemarle, died at 2:28 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in Stanly Regional Medical Center.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Stanly Funeral Home, Albemarle, where the body will remain until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the hour of service.
His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Springer and Rev. Lee Church officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born October 2, 1933 in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Robert Franklin Treece and Clara Kirk Treece.
He was educated at New London High School and was a retired Superintendent with Clancey and Theys. Mr. Treece was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict, and he also loved playing golf.
Mr. Treece was married to the late Helen Morton Treece. Survivors include one son, Anthony K. Treece of Norwood; two daughters, Tammy Treece Roland and husband Norman of Charlotte and Kelly Treece Burgess and husband Randy of Albemarle; one brother, Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Treece of New London; one half brother, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Treece of New London; three sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Russell (Alma) Mauldin of Albemarle, Mrs. Jadie Rogers of Raleigh and Mr. and Mrs. Sherrill (Betty) Drye of Albemarle; three grandchildren, Matthew Kirk Treece, Cody Anthony Treece and Erica Lauren Butler; and two great-grandchildren, Mason Lee Butler and Taylor Brooke Butler.
Stanly Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
