Mahalia Samaria Furr Herrin

Mrs Herrin died at her home in Albemarle. The body was in the home of her daughter, Mrs Hugh S. Ritchie until the funeral rites which were at West Albemarle Baptist Church with pastor Rev. C.R. Hinton officiating. Mrs Herrin was a charter member of the church. Burial was in Bear Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Herrin was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William E. Furr of Stanly County, born January 20, 1870; married to the late John W. Herrin on December 29, 1887. Mr. Herrin died in August 1922.

She was survived by 10 children, three daughters and seven sons: Mrs. E.H. Lowser, Hopewell, VA; Mrs. H.J. Underwood, Route 1, Albemarle; Mrs. H.S. Ritchie, Albemarle; C.E. Herrin, Concord; J.R. Herrin, Albemarle; W.H. Herrin, Louden, Tennessee; D.M. Herrin, Salisbury; D.A. Herrin, Albemarle; G.F. Herrin, Albemarle; and Marshall W. Herrin, Albemarle.
