Helen Miller Hall

ROCKWELL - Helen Miller Hall, 84, of Rockwell passed away Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

She was born Sept. 22, 1922 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Luther Adolphus and Ida Evan Lyerly Miller. She was a 1939 Graduate of Rockwell High School and had been employed with Cannon Mills, Kannapolis, George C. Moore Company, Edenton, NC and Erwin Middle School, Salisbury.

Mrs. Hall was a lifetime member of St. James Lutheran Church, former choir member, a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, Co-Chair of the Altar Guild, member of the Young at Heart Club, American Legion Auxiliary, the YMCA, a member of the T.L.C Group, helped with Meals On Wheels, and was a member of the Rockwell Senior Citizens Group.

Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by a son, Tony Michael Hall in January 1942, and her husband, Melvin Michael Hall in May 1982.

Survivors include her daughter, Melvia Hall Hutchinson and husband, Cecil, of Salisbury; son, Michael Kent Hall and wife, Kay, of Sanford; three grandchildren, Blair Hutchinson Green and husband, Bryan, of Conover, Jeffrey Todd Hutchinson and wife, Thea of Alachua, Fla. and Michael Tanner Hall of Sanford; three great-grandchildren, Derek Bryan, Lauryn Blair, and Tayler Melia Green of Conover; sister, Ruth Miller Leazer of Rockwell and two special nieces, Shirley Leazer Corriher of Rockwell and Brenda Leazer Honeycutt of Granite Quarry.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at Powles Funeral Home from 6:30-8 p.m. tonight.

Services: Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Lutheran Church by Rev. C. P. Fisher. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
