Lyerly Reunion
The annual reunion of the Walter Adolphus Lyerly and Minnie Morgan Lyerly descendants was held Sept. 30 at the Faith Lutheran Church picnic shelter with 51 family members present.
The Vaughn Lyerly family was host and served a barbecued chicken supper.
Wesley Fulk, president, welcomed the group and presided over the business meeting.
There was one death reported since the last reunion; Evelyn Eagle Hicks Dunkum, Jan. 6, 2006.
Births reported were Kayla Anne Morris, born March 23, 2006, to Brandi Lawson and James Morris; Matthew James Lyerly, born July 20, 2006, to Michael and Amy Lyerly; and Lindsey Grace Whisnant, born Sept. 7, 2006, to Ken and Bethany Whisnant.
Marriages reported were Edward Joseph Jarrett and Leslie Jones on April 22, 2006 and Seth Terry Burris and Melissa Rena Hartsell on July 29, 2006.
Gifts were presented to Hazel Lyerly and Jean Lyerly, the two oldest family members present.
Officers for 2007 are Wes Fulk, president; Brandi Lawson, vice president; and Gaynelle Julian-Morgan, secretary-treasurer.
The reunion for 2007 will be on Sept. 30 with the Eddie Rogers family and Ron Burris family serving as hosts.
