Betty Whitley Bell, 67, of Rockwell, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, June 3, 2017, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Bell was born July 11, 1949, in Rowan County to the late Kenneth Whitley and Esther W. Brown. She was a graduate of East Rowan High School and retired from Phillip Morris.
Betty dedicated her life to her family. She was a caring daughter, devoted wife, loyal sister, loving mother, and proud grandmother. She loved going to the beach and watching her grandchildren play sports.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lloyd Bell; sons, Tim (Wanda) and Todd (Allyson); daughter, Lisa Seamon (Todd); grandchildren, TJ, Isaac, Jared, Tyler, Azlan, Jacob, and Jessica; sisters, Nancy Taylor and Judy Drye; and brother, Wayne Whitley.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 4:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell, followed by the funeral service at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Powles Staton Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Jerry Hagler.
Memorials may be made to Levine Cancer Institute, c/o Carolinas HealthCare Foundation, Charlotte.
