ROCKWELL --The funeral is Wednesday for Raymond Wayne Shue, 62, Boone, formerly of Rockwell, who died Sunday (June 15, 2003) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.
Born Sept. 27, 1940, in Rowan County, Mr. Shue was a son of Celeste Boger Shue, Rockwell, and the late James Matthew Shue Jr. He was a 1958 graduate of Rockwell High School.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he owned and operated Carolina Contacts. He was a Methodist.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include wife Dr. Linda Carol Secor, whom he married Nov. 20, 1999; son Mark Wayne Shue, Gold Hill; daughters Patti Shue Safrit, Salisbury, and Robin Elizabeth Shue, Gold Hill; brother Kenneth Shue, Greensboro; sister Nancy Sebastian, Thomasville; and four grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. Wednesday, Powles Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Don Safrit. Burial, Brookhill Memorial Gardens. Military rites by Rowan County Veterans Council.
Visitation: 5-7 this evening at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the home of daughter Patti Safrit, Salisbury.
