Farrington’s first wife was was his second cousin Catharine Furr.

Son of Paul "S," was a farmer before the Civil War. He enlisted on September 7, 1861 as a Private in Company K, 28th North Carolina Infantry. He was wounded in the side and right arm at Cedar Mountain, Virginia, on August 9, 1862 and was granted a disability discharge on April 18, 1863. He married his second cousin, Catherine A. Furr, daughter of Esquire John Furr, and they had eight children. He is buried in the Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. [Furr Family History]
