Sadie Louise Cornelius Freeze
STATESVILLE -- Sadie Louise Cornelius Freeze, 87, of Statesville, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015, at Gordon Hospice House. Born Oct. 25, 1928, in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Norris Cornelius and Lillian Drye Cornelius.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elbert Cornelius and Eugene Cornelius; her husband, Albert Quince Freeze; and her son, James Albert Freeze.
Mrs. Freeze worked in textiles for many years, retiring from Hunt Manufacturing. She was an active member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, where she had served in many capacities. Her favorite hobby was working puzzles.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Bonnie F. Moore of Statesville; one brother, Kenneth Cornelius; and one sister, Carolyn Johnson of Jonesville.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m., at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Matt Emory officiating. Following the service, family and friends will gather in the church fellowship hall for lunch, fellowship and celebration of Sadie's life.
Memorial donations may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church, 742 Shiloh Rd., Statesville, NC 28625; or to Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625.
