Betty Lou Hinson Heath

High Point - Betty Lou Hinson Heath, 86, of High Point, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville, NC. 

Betty Heath was born October 24, 1930, the daughter of William Crowell Hinson and Virgie Irene Eagle Hinson. She graduated from Rockwell High School in Rockwell, NC, and later from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX, with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Betty taught school in Plainview, TX; Denton, NC; and High Point, NC. She was a dedicated Sunday School children's teacher at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church for thirty years. She had a lifelong interest in flowers and genealogy research on the Eagle family. 

In 1957, Betty married James Edwin Heath, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, W.C. Hinson Jr. (June), Richard C. Hinson and James N. Hinson; and sister, Rachel E. Hill. 

Betty is survived by a daughter, LuAnne Heath Tywater and husband Lawrence Walker Tywater; grandchildren, Zachary Heath and Chloe Nicole, of High Point; a son, William Eugene Heath and wife Shannon Heath of Thomasville; and three grandchildren, William James, Jacob Daniel and Caitlyn Elizabeth Heath; and sister Margaret A. Gordon of Pensacola, FL. 

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Sunday, March 5th, in the Chapel of Sechrest Funeral Service of High Point. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service and at other times at the home of the daughter.

Memorials may be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church Children's Ministry, or Piedmont Crossing Retirement Community, Thomasville, NC.
