Paul Woodrow Wyatt

ALBEMARLE - Paul Woodrow Wyatt, 95, of Albemarle passed Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Trinity Place, Albemarle.

Born Dec. 11, 1918 in Richfield, he was the son of the late David Eli Wyatt and Ester Frick Wyatt.

He was a long time member of Prospect Baptist Church and was employed by Wiscassett Mills in Albemarle.

Mr. Wyatt was a charter member of the 82nd Airborne and a highly decorated veteran of World War II. He served for the duration of the war and saw action in D-Day, Operation Market Garden and the Battle of the Bulge.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ethrillian Thompson Wyatt; sister, Lula Goodman and brother, Roy Wyatt.

He is survived and loved by his son, Dr. Roger D. Wyatt and wife Freida Bryson Wyatt; sister, Mary Cater of Conover; grandson, Derek Bryson Wyatt and wife Heather of Nashville, Tenn.; granddaughter, Tamara Wyatt Jensen; great-grandson Jacob Paul Jensen of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.

Service and Visitation:His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday June 10, 2014 at Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Stoney Benfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2 p.m. Tuesday at Prospect Baptist Church prior to the funeral service.

Memorials:In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Prospect Baptist Church, or to Trinity Place.
