Harold Gene Eagle
Harold Gene Eagle, 86, of Charlotte, NC and formerly of Salisbury, NC passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Brookdale Carriage Club.
He was the father of Andra Eagle Kelly of Charlotte and Amber Eagle (Guillermo Rosas) of Houston, Texas and San Miguel de Allende, MX . Gene is also survived by his beloved granddaughter Ava Eagle Kelly of Los Angeles, CA.
He was the son of the late Joseph Charles Eagle and Etta Marguerite Holshouser Eagle. Gene was born June 27, 1937 in Rowan County, NC and grew up in Salisbury’s Cannon Mills Village with his siblings Carl Eagle (Dottie) of Salisbury, Jerry Eagle (Mary) of Summerfield, NC, Ann McCanless (Bill) of Charlotte and preceeding him in death siblings Jane Hege (Ed) of Salisbury, J.C. Eagle (1938) as well as sister Margaret Elizabeth (1954).
Gene met Carole Steele Eagle when she lived across the street from him. They ran off and got married and were together for 52 years until her passing in 2011. Gene worked at S.C Johnson and worked his way towards a business degree at UNCC in the evenings while he and Carole raised their girls. His entrepreneurial spirit grew into creating his own company Anchor Sales and Marketing. When he retired, he and Carole enjoyed traveling together all over the world for many years.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 at 11am at Third Creek Presbyterian Church officiated by Pastor Jerry Blankenship with the burial following in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gene’s name to: Third Creek Presbyterian Church - 2055 Third Creek Church Rd, Cleveland, NC.
