1880 Rowan census: Morgan Township, Household #18:
Richard Parker, 67, farmer, born in Virginia;
Louisa, 18, daughter.;
[NOTE - we aren't sure WHY this says "born in VA"; although we do believe
Richard's father was born in VA <Sandy Bolick>]

Richard's son, William L., in 1890, petitioned to have Richard declared incompetent. Apparently he was so declared and son Drewery Lovelace was named guardian. It is uncertain whether Drewery lived in Wadesboro at that time, but he did in 1895 when he wrote to Mr. Watson (who was either the sheriff or a magistrate) of Rowan and asked to have Emmanuel Miller appointed instead, as Drewery said he was simply unable to get back to Salisbury to attend to matters.

The names of heirs who signed to have Emanuel Miller appointed with notes as to their probable identity:
W.L. Parker (son William L.)
E. __. Parker (???)
S. G. Morgan (Silas Green Morgan, husband of Charity)
C.C. Morgan (daughter Charity Caroline, who married Silas Green Morgan)
E. Miller (Emmanuel Miller)
(S?) D. Miller (???)
R. J. Reid (son-in-law James Reid)
M. A. Reid (daughter Mary Ann, wife of James Reid)
W. H. Parks (Louisa's husband, W. Henderson Parks)
Louisa Parks (daughter)

Martha J. Kirk (daughter Martha Jane who married Tom Kirk)
J.M. Parker (son Jeremiah M. )
Rachel C. Parker (daughter-in-law, wife of Jeremiah)

and the names of children of Elizabeth and Richard T, now deceased.
