Helen Marguritte Williams Lingle

FAITH - Helen Marguritte Williams Lingle, 95, of Faith, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Mrs. Lingle was born Oct. 9, 1911, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Clarence and Daisy Overcash Williams.

Mrs. Lingle was a graduate of Granite Quarry High School, had worked at Cannon Mills in the sheet department and then retired from Carolina Maid in the dress department.

She was a lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church, where she taught children's Sunday School, was a choir member, an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary and a life member of the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by a son, the Rev. Dean Rollin Lingle, on Sept. 16, 1984; husband Carr Hubert Lingle on May 22, 1987; brothers Floyd Williams, Ralph Williams, Claude Williams and Clifford Williams; sister Margie Drury; and daughter-in-law Janie Lingle.

Survivors include sons Jerry Carr Lingle and loving friend Joyce Dixon of Greensboro, William Nelson Lingle and wife Priscilla of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and the Rev. Jeffrey Lane Lingle and wife Sally of Rock Hill, S.C.; brothers Marcelle Williams of Faith and Darrell Williams of Gastonia; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services: Committal Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Faith Lutheran Church Cemetery, followed by a Memorial Service at Faith Lutheran Church conducted by the Rev. Loyd Ginn, pastor.

Visitation: The family will be at Faith Lutheran Church Family Life Center from 6:30-8 tonight.

Memorials: In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Faith Lutheran Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 669, Faith, NC 28041.

The Lingle family is being assisted by Powles Funeral Home of Rockwell.
