Eleanor Ribelin Sifford

GREENSVILLE, SC - Eleanor Ribelin Sifford, 71, of Greenville, died Oct. 29, 2006.

Born in Rowan County, Mrs. Sifford was the daughter of the late Nathaniel O. and Geneva Heilig Ribelin and the widow of Ralph Gene Sifford. She was secretary with J.P. Stevens and was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Savior.

Surviving are daughters Mrs. Pamela Sifford Dubois of Concord and Mrs. Teresa Sifford Tinsley of Greenville, S.C.; son Barry Sifford of Salisbury; brothers Charles L. Ribelin of Arden, N.C., Nathaniel O. Ribelin Jr. of Alpharetta, Ga., and Frank R. Ribelin of Nevada; and grandchildren Christopher and Audrey Sifford.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Herman A. Ribelin, and a sister, Evelyn E. Ribelin.

Service: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lutheran Church of Our Savior. A committal service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Organ Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Upstate South Carolina Chapter, Greenville, SC.

Thomas McAFee Funeral Home, in Greenville, S.C., is in charge of the Sifford service.

Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell is assisting the Sifford family with local arrangements.
