SPENCER -- William Howard Morgan, 75, Spencer, died Monday (Nov. 25, 2002) at his home after a year of declining health.

Born Dec. 10, 1926, in Chambers County, Ala., Mr. Morgan was a son of the late William Henry and Annie Eagle Morgan. He was educated in the Rowan County schools and was a graduate of East Spencer High School.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years and a member of the Letter Carrier's Association. Also a member of Central United Methodist Church, he was a former member of the choir and a former Sunday school teacher.

His wife, Lois Faye Hartman Morgan, died Jan. 10, 1985.

Survivors include son William H. "Rusty" Morgan Jr., Salisbury; daughters Debbie Morgan Young, Salisbury, and Shari Morgan, Granite Quarry; sister Rachel Morgan Smith, Salisbury; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services: Graveside, 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oakdale Baptist Church cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Rick Freeborn.

Visitation: The family will be at the home of daughter Debbie Young.

Summersett Funeral Home, Salisbury, is in charge.

Memorials: Rowan Regional Home Health and Hospice.
