Tuesday, March 4, 2008 — Bertha Jane Dunn Cotton, 92, of Forrest Oakes, Albemarle, died at 12:29 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2008, in Stanly Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral will be at graveside at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fairview Memorial Park with The Rev. David Alexander and The Rev. Edward Black officiating.
Born Dec. 3, 1915, in Albemarle, she was a daughter of the late Grover Madison and Telia Josephine Mason Dunn and was owner of Bert’s Cleaners. She was a charter member of Second Street Presbyterian Church.
Her husband, Homer Leroy Cotton Jr., preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Joseph Cotton of Charlotte; a daughter, Nancy Stephens of Little Rock, Ark.; a brother, Clyde Dunn of Albemarle; a sister, Ethel Simpson of Albemarle; and four grandchildren, Jackson T. Stephens III, Nicholas Mason Stephens, Katherine Elizabeth Cotton and Nicholas Artega Cotton.
The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle from 12 to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to Second Street Presbyterian Church, Albemarle, NC.
