Notes for David Brown
David and Sarah lived about 3 and 1/2 miles from Salisbury on Old Highway 80, the old road from Salisbury to Granite Quarry. The house stood back from the road, on the right as one went from Granite Quarry to Salisbury, was wood and painted white. It was on a hillside as the road sloped down to a bridge crossing Crane Creek, where it joined the Faith Road to Salisbury. (Source: Paul Brown Fry, great-great grandson of David and Sarah, who saw the house about 1913-14.)

David inherited the Old Stone House. It passed father to son, David to Jacob to Thomas to John, then to the Trustees, and finally to the Rowan County Museum.
