Notes for Philip Miller
Philip’s gravestone has John P. Miller, the only record using the name John.

He is not an heir in Wendel's will but is a co-executor. On 5 Mar 1802 Wendel deeded to Philip 253 acres on Second Dutch Creek adjoining land of Nicholas Miller. This might have been an inheritance. Earlier on 10 Jun 1797 Philip bought 44 acres adjoining the land of Jacob and David Kluttz from Martin Kluttz. Philip sold land to his sons Martin and John in 1824, Jacob in 1833, and Peter in 1834. After his death his heirs sold their share in the remaining property to Daniel.

On 10 Oct 1832 Philip applied for a Revolutionary War Pension. The day he left for the war Philip planted a chestnut tree on the Miller property in Rockwell that stood as a landmark for over 100 years.
